70/30 Brass tube are used in various kinds of applications and these include hand pumps, plumbing, general engineering, furniture, ammunitions, sugar industry, to name a few. Such types of 70/30 tubes that are made from brass, are also known as ‘Sugar Brass Tubes’. These tubes can be obtained in various specifications and they are also tailor-made to meet specific needs. As compared with zinc or bronze, the malleability of 70/30 brass is much higher. Brass has a density of 0.303 - 0.315 lb/cu in (8.4 - 8.73 grams per cubic cm). Brass can be made into soft as well as hard brasses, by varying the quantities of zinc and copper in it. Based on the composition of brass, it has a very low melting point of 1,650 - 1,720 °F (900 - 940 °C).

As such, brass is a very good material to cast. Brass Pipes 70/30 are made from the commonest type of alpha brass and this brass type contains 70% copper and 30% zinc. 70/30 brass also goes by the name of Cartridge Brass. This kind of brass is just ideal for cold working. Brass of this type also has a much higher resistance to corrosion, as compared to brass which has a larger amount of zinc in it. 70/30 brass is used to make things such as wood screws, fasteners, electrical sockets spring contacts, etc. This kind of C260 brass tubing is also known as Alpha Brass. Such brasses contain less than 37% of zinc, that has been melted into copper. These types of brasses are much more ductile and much more softer than other brasses and that is why they can be much more easily be drawn, brazed, welded, bent, rolled or cold worked.
